This policy explains what information ringbearer.ai LLC ("ringbearer", "we", "us") collects when you use ringbearer.ai and the ringbearer app (the "service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what's needed to run a wedding planning tool, we don't sell your data, and the wedding data you enter stays yours.
What we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and authentication credentials. Authentication and account data are handled by Supabase, our database and auth provider.
Wedding data you enter. Guest names and contact details, RSVPs, dietary notes, seating assignments, budget figures, vendor information, timelines, ceremony details, and anything else you put into the app. Much of this is information about people other than you; see "Information about your guests" below.
Payment information. Payments will be processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us; we receive only what we need to manage your subscription (plan, status, and billing history).
Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the marketing site. This involves cookies and collects things like pages visited, approximate location, and device information.
Information about your guests
When you build a guest list, you're giving us personal information about your guests on their behalf. We process it only to provide the service to you. We don't contact your guests, market to them, or sell their information. If you share a link (for example, a day-of schedule), anyone with the link can see what it contains, so share deliberately. If a guest wants their information removed, they can ask you to remove it from your wedding, or contact us directly.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve the service, personalize your planning experience, respond to support requests, send service-related email (not marketing you didn't ask for), and keep the service secure.
Barb and AI processing
Barb, the AI coordinator, is powered by Anthropic's Claude models. When you use Barb, or AI features like smart suggestions, relevant parts of your wedding data are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, that data is not used to train their models. We don't send your wedding data to AI providers except to power the AI features you use.
Google account connections
If you connect a Google account (Settings → Connectors), you grant ringbearer access to specific Google services to power planning features. Each connector is optional and opt-in, requested only when you choose to connect it, and you can disconnect it at any time from Settings — which revokes our access.
- Google Calendar. We add and update wedding events — your timeline and vendor meetings — on a calendar you choose.
- Gmail (optional). If you connect Gmail, Barb can read your email to find and summarize vendor correspondence, and can prepare replies. We only ever create drafts — nothing is sent on your behalf; you review and send from Gmail yourself.
- Google Drive (optional). If you connect Drive, Barb can find, read, and edit your planning documents (Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides) so it can work from and update your real files.
How we use and share this data. We use the data these connections provide only to give you the connector features described above. When a feature uses AI (Barb), the relevant email or document content is sent to Anthropic to generate the response, under commercial terms that prohibit using it to train their models. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide these features, to comply with the law, or as part of a business transfer. We do not let our staff read your Google data except where you specifically ask us to, where it is necessary for security or to comply with the law, or in aggregated, anonymized form. We store your connection's access tokens (encrypted) so the connection keeps working; we do not keep our own copies of your emails or files beyond what is needed to show you a result.
Limited Use. ringbearer's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that run the platform:
- Supabase: database, storage, and authentication
- Vercel: application hosting
- Anthropic: AI processing for Barb and AI features
- Stripe: payment processing
- Google Analytics: usage analytics on the marketing site
Each provider processes data only to provide their service to us. Beyond that, we disclose information only if required by law, to protect the safety and integrity of the service, or as part of a business transfer, never as a product. Collaborators you invite to your wedding can see and edit that wedding's data; who you invite is up to you.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and, via Google Analytics, to measure site usage. You can block analytics cookies in your browser without affecting the app.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and we delete the wedding data associated with it, minus what we're legally required to keep (like billing records) and residual copies in backups, which age out on a fixed schedule. You can export your guest list to CSV at any time before deleting.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers. Access to production data is limited to what's needed to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the kind of data a wedding involves.
Your rights
You can access and update your data in the app, export your guest list, and delete your account. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights: access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection to certain processing. To exercise any of them, email us and we'll respond within the timelines the law requires. We don't sell personal information and haven't in the preceding 12 months.
Children
The service is for adults planning weddings and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as the service evolves. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and we'll always show the effective date at the top of this page.
